Schoolhouse Camp SESSION 1 & 2
Schoolhouse Camp SESSION 1 & 2
Bovina Historical Society presents…
Walk back in time to attend this ‘living history’ day camp experience. Schoolhouse camp blends history, drama, (play the role of a real-life Bovina student of the past), the 3Rs, arts and crafts, and lots of 19th-century-style recess and games! We want this experience to be as immersive as possible and strive to create an experience that integrates history, theater, science, literature, arts and crafts, and recess activities. We are outside a lot and do a lot of fun activities! Our goal is to create an authentic 1900-era school experience--as much as we can! We aim to keep as free from 21st-century distractions, conversations, and situations as possible.
Camp takes place in an idyllic setting in the schoolhouse, and outdoors by a brook and meadow. The Maynard Schoolhouse, District #1, is located on Bovina Road, 4.5 miles east of Bovina Center.
