Russell's General Store
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bovina Center, New York—December 9, 2021: The Bovina Historical Society (BHS), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving and honoring the history and architectural character of the hamlet, has announced it is actively seeking applications for a proprietor to lease Russell’s General Store in Bovina Center. The store is owned by and operates under the auspices of the BHS.
The organization seeks a candidate who can articulate
*via a written business plan*
a vision for the store that is creative, ambitious, and realistic.
Not least, a viable candidate must be the kind of person who enjoys being involved in, and contributing to, the wholesome spirit of a town like Bovina.
For its historic architecture and friendly, old-fashioned atmosphere, Russell’s General Store is considered one of the jewels of its kind in the Catskill Mountains. Many patrons have likened visiting it to stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting.
Briana Riera, President of BHS, states: “We are thankful to Sohail and Sara, the store’s current proprietors, for their service and we look forward to working with the next proprietor on a new and exciting chapter for Russell’s.”
The store occupies the first floor of the structure and includes a complete working kitchen.
